22 Augustus 2005 | Oost Timor, Dili
Tomorrow we fly to West Timor, capital Kupang, from there it's a choice of a mega bumpy road to Dili capital East Timor or a flight on some very dodgy airline, the sort that look for holes in the clouds.. Anyway East Timor is Asias newest nation, it was a lot in the news until recently and not all positive..But the doors are open for tourists and we need a different visa so off we go, adventure time.We hope to stay for a month or so, they don't have thier own currency yet so we have to spend us dollars like everyone else. They will most likely go a very long way.
From East Timor it's a long way back up thru the archipeligo to Java,. which includes lots of boats, ferries, rickshaws and chickchacks and motorpedos and all other forms of wobbly transport..
maybe a while for we touch base again, keep in touch,

Hey Tony and Vera,
Sounds like you're having a great adventure. Will you be in Australia at all? You have a place to stay in Sydney with me if you make it down here.

Hi Guys,
We thought we'd give u an update what we've been up to in this dreary, yet suffering from a last gasp at summer, land :-)
After enjoying Extrema that much we decided to try and get another festival chalked up and went to Mysteryland last weekend, brilliant!
Our first time there but certainly worth another visit next year. Good mix of people/ages and great set up with small green lit paths, parade sort
of atmosphere in places and all in a short bus journey away. This weekend try and have a barbie before heading to the highlands next week for 2 weeks
to see the *old country*. Haven't been for a year now so beginning to get itchy feet. After that it's back to the grindstone trying to get our extension completed this year
seems to be dragging on a bit too much for our licking now. haven't even got planning permission yet!
Anyways, I hope you guys can enjoy the rest of the travels and Tony can get back to his lovely rice..surprise. As Baldrick would say "The surprise is that there's nothing
else in it but rice", or was that turnip?
Take it easy!
